The adj. gas system may have been one of the components that helped the FN/FAL system reach the world market popularity that it would eventually attain, this particular rifle, an Argentine built F.S.L. was imported through National Arms in Billerica, MA & still appears in its original configuration. Adj. protected post front sight w/ flip up rear peep sight. Full length 10 3/4" buttstock w/ rubber shoulder pad. Top mounted carry handle, left side non-reciprocating charging handle. Metric pattern receiver. Rifle marked as follows: Bottom of bbl. behind muzzle brake at 6 o"clock reads "National Arms 00339 Billerica, MA", left side receiver marked "F.S.L. cal. 7.62x51mm (L S R 308 WIN) / 00339", right side receiver marked "FMAP. (DM) ROSARIO / INDUSTRIA ARGENTINA". Black adj. nylon sling & muzzle brake. MAGS: 3 steel metric pattern mags. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: light bipod is included w/ this lot along w/ copies of an article relating to Argentinean rifles. CONDITION: like most original guns of this type & history, the dark black painted finish on the receivers & bbl. have normal scratches & dings, especially in areas of mechanical interface, such as where the selector engages w/ the receiver & around the ejection port; carry handle remains very tight; fire control mechanism appears to function correctly when cycled by hand.
