PISTOL. Cal. 52. NSN. Bbl. 5 3/4" w/ oct. shank & faceted transition for rnd. forward portion w/ slightly flared muzzle. Smooth bore. Engraved iron hammer, frizzen & lockplate. Lock is marked "ANGELO GRASSI" (Tascana, Italy). Pinned fastened walnut stock w/ ornate brass trigger guard & buttcap. Wrist, top tang & sideplate areas are ornamented w/ pierced brass overlays. Bone tipped ramrod held w/ faceted brass thimble & single pipe. CONDITION: cleaned gray metal showing light pitting. Stock shows wear w/ heavy gouges & handling marks. Hammer will not hold in cocked position. Dark pitted bore. (01-17049/DS). ANTIQUE. $600-900.
