REVOLVER. Cal. 22 LR. S# 61326. Bbl. 6" heavy w/ early long ramp based front sight having King's style red insert plus Coltmaster rear (white paint in notch). Mfg. 1950 (1949-1952); also in 38 Spl. Produced between Officers Target & Officers Match Target models, hence Special designation; also called 4th issue. Left side of frame at butt w/ A. A. White Engraved. Blued finish w/ nice floral engraving plus "L G(K?) R" on top strap reading front to rear. Matching numbered sideplate. Roper (distinctive Gagne marks on back) RH checkered walnut grips w/ pronounced thumb rest & palm flare on right. Grooved blued trigger plus grooved hammer w/ sides jeweled. CONDITION: near excellent appearance as refinished after being engraved. Extremely light wear at muzzle, beginning of finish loss at cyl. stop leades, ejector rod & front corners of frame by yoke pivot. Good to very good grips w/ light marks, sm. chip at bottom of right along w/ repaired split at outer edge of palm flare. Near excellent bore. (20-762/NW). CURIO. $1,200-1,800.
