An interesting group of bayonets consisting of a Revolutionary War American copy of a British fusil bayonet. The bayonet was excavated near Freeman's Farm & is associated w/ the Battle of Saratoga. / A transitional M1812 US bayonet (no scabbard). / A M1816 US bayonet (no scabbard). / M1842 US bayonet (no scabbard). / M1873 US bayonet w/ scabbard. / Pattern 1853 British Enfield bayonet & scabbard. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: the Revolutionary War bayonet comes w/ a letter stating where & who purchased the bayonet in 1935. CONDITION: fusil bayonet has a dark excavated patina & the blade is slightly bent. The M1812 & M1816 bayonets have a dark oxidized patina. M1842 shows a medium to light gray patina. M1873 has a blued finish, scabbard is undamaged w/ wear to the leather. P1853 has a plum brown socket w/ a blade showing a medium gray mottled patina. Scabbard shows moderate wear.
