1) ALLGEMEINE SS. An officer grade hat featuring a plated gray metal skull & eagle. Black velvet band w/ black crown & silver bullion piping. Silver bullion like chinstrap w/ pebbled side buttons. Leather sweatband. No sweatshield. CONDITION: hat generally shows light wear. 2) WAFFEN SS. An officer grade hat featuring a plated gray metal skull & eagle. Black velvet band w/ a sage green crown & silver bullion piping. Silver bullion like chinstrap w/ pebbled side buttons. Leather sweatband. Sweatshield is present but printing is illegible. CONDITION: hat generally shows light wear overall. 3) ALLGEMEINE SS. An officer grade hat featuring a plated gray metal skull & eagle. Black velvet band w/ black crown & silver bullion piping. Silver bullion like chinstrap w/ pebbled side buttons. Leather sweatband. Sweatshield reads, “Alleste Berliner Uniform Mutzenfabrik Berlin-SW Wilhelmstrasse 110”. CONDITION: hat generally shows light wear. 4) WAFFEN SS SIGNALS. A low grade officer’s hat featuring aluminum skull & eagle. Black velvet band w/ a sage green crown & bright yellow piping. The yellow piping was used for about a 6 month period to denote branch of service in the Waffen SS. The colored piping was abandoned after a short period. Silver bullion like chinstrap w/ pebbled side buttons. Leather like sweatband. Sweatshield has a gold printed, “SS” in a circle. CONDITION: hat generally shows light wear overall. These hats, though showing some quality & attention to detail, are all reproductions. (02-14293-2(4)/BF). $300-500.
