1) JAPANESE TYPE 38 BOLT ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 7.62x39. S# 47980. Bbl. 20 5/8". Rifle is in carbine configuration, but rebored to accept the 7.62x39 cartridge w/ shortened follower & block in mag. well to allow feeding. Rifle configuration resembles shortened version of Type 38 Cavalry rifle conversion is likely Chinese. Receiver marked on left rail w/ interlocking circles indicating mfg. at Koshikawa Arsenal. Straight bolt handle. Lg. tang cocking knob. Ladder rear sight graduated to 1,000m. Inverted V front sight w/ protective ears. Hardwood stock set shortened to accept upper band w/ bayonet lug. Cleaning rod is not present. Has bottom swivels. Hardwood stock set w/ 2 piece buttstock construction. Buttstock has obscured oval shaped marking on right side. CONDITION: stock set has arsenal type brown finish w/ extensive dents, wear & scratches. Lg. cracks in forend between bbl. bands. Metal turning overall gray w/ patina, light oxidation, wear & fine pitting. Good shiny bore w/ sharp lands. (20-795/RW). CURIO. 2) LEE ENFIELD NO. III BOLT ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 303 Brit. S# 8354. Bbl. 21" including flash suppressor. Receiver marked on butt socket crown "G.P. / 1944 / SHT.LE / III*". Bbl. shortened as added L1 cage type flash suppressor w/ bayonet lug. Modified Mauser type front sight w/ added protected ears from No. 4 Rifle. Tangent rear sight graduated to 2,000 yds. Bolt head is skeletonized to show extractor spring. Safety is incomplete & nonfunctioning. Walnut buttstock w/ brass buttplate. Forend & handguards heavily modified w/ poorly fitting hobbyist gunsmith installation. MAGS: 1 detachable 10 rd. mag. CONDITION: mismatched stock set has wear, dents, scratches, scattered cracks & missing chips. Metal has traces of original finish turning overall gray w/ light oxidation. Dark oxidized bore. (20-796/RW). MODERN. 3) STEYR MODEL 95 STRAIGHT PULL CARBINE. Cal. 8x50. S# 4555C. Bbl. 19 1/2". Numbers match on receiver & bbl. Mannlicher carbine captured & reissued by Italians. Used in East Africa & marked on buttstock w/ encircled "AOI" which stands for Africa Orientale Italiana. Receiver marked on top "STEYR M.95". Straight pull bolt. Ladder rear sight graduated to 1,400m. Inverted V front sight. Has stacking bar & bayonet lug. Lower band has provision for side & bottom swivels. Fitted w/ vintage military leather sling. Hardwood stock set. Buttstock has provision for side swivel at grip only. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 9 7/8" fullered blade bayonet. Austrian made bayonet w/ cutting edge on top. Riveted walnut grip panels. Bayonet marked on right ricasso "OE WG". Steel scabbard has black paint type finish. Bayonet has staining, light oxidation & scattered fine pitting. Blade has not been sharpened. CONDITION: stock set has been cleaned & has arsenal rework type finish w/ repair at heel of butt due to crack & 2 sm. repaired cracks behind receiver tang. Metal has 70% original blue finish w/ wear, thinning & scratches. Good bore w/ worn lands. (20-797/RW). CURIO. $650-1,150.
