1) 18TH CENTURY HALBERD HEAD. Overall length: 18 5/8". Width: 6 3/4". An early hand forged iron halberd w/ central blade & hook. There is a single hole approx. 1" up from the base for attachment to a pole. CONDITION: halberd shows significant oxidation & pitting & may have been excavated. There is a layer of black paint over the remnants of gold paint. There is a 1/2" chip out of the blade. (02-13358/BF). 2) 18TH CENTURY HALBERD. Overall length: 60 1/2". Overall length of head: 12 1/2". Width: 7 1/2". An early, crudely forged iron halberd head w/ central blade & 3 pointed head opposite. Head is attached to a 2 piece modern wooden pole w/ iron central attachment collar. Head attaches to pole w/ a single iron rivet. CONDITION: head has a dark ancient patina w/ light nicks to the edge of the blade. Spear tip has been rounded. Wooden haft is quite solid & hand tooled to appear early. (02-13385/BF). 3) 18TH CENTURY HALBERD HEAD. Overall length: 15 3/4". Width: 7". An early hand forged iron halberd w/ central blade & raised hook. There is a single hole at the base of the tang for attachment to a pole. CONDITION: head shows overall dark oxidation w/ areas of pitting. (02-13406/BF). $800-1,400.
