1) BRITISH "PATTERN 1751" HANGER. Overall length: 30". Blade length: 24 1/2". Plain blade w/ a single narrow fuller at the top. Solid brass hilt w/ 12 lobe spiral grip & 2 branches. No scabbard. CONDITION: blade has a cleaned mottled finish w/ several shallow nicks to the edge. Hilt has a mellow patina & is undamaged. (02-13354/BF). 2) BRITISH "PATTERN 1742" HANGER. Overall length: 34". Blade length: 27 3/4". Blade has a single narrow fuller at the top & is stamped near the ricasso w/ opposing broad arrows. Brass heart shaped guard. Wood grip that originally had wire wrapping. No scabbard. CONDITION: blade has a cleaned medium gray mottled finish w/ a few nicks & areas of sharpening on the edge. Hilt is undamaged & has a mellow patina. Grip shows notable wear indicating use well after wire wrapping disappeared. (02-13383/BF). 3) FRENCH "MODEL 1767" HANGER. Overall length: 30 1/4". Blade length: 25". This early French Infantry sword is often referred to as the M1767 & is actually a hanger. The term "briquet" came into use during the French Revolution. Plain flat blade is stamped w/ 2 proof marks near the ricasso. Solid brass hilt of conventional style. No scabbard. CONDITION: blade has a medium gray cleaned mottled finish & shows evidence of sharpening. Hilt has a deep mellow patina. Crossguard is slightly bent. (02-13392/BF). $800-1,300.
