1) EARLY ARMY SWORD. Overall length: 37". Blade length: 31 1/4". Single fuller blade marked at the ricasso, “SIEGFRIED ERNST PACK & SOHNE M.B.H. WAFFENFABRIK SOLINGEN WAFFEN”. Gilded brass hilt w/ WWII German eagle on languet. Knuckle bow & backstrap are ornately foliate decorated. Dove head style pommel. Composite grip w/ wire wrap. Black painted metal scabbard. CONDITION: blade shows original factory polish. Hilt shows light wear. Scabbard has about 30% loss of finish. (02-15114/BF). 2) ARMY OFFICER’S SWORD. Overall length: 39". Blade length: 33". Single fullered blade marked, “ALCOSO ACS (scales) SOLINGEN”. Gilded brass hilt w/ WWII German eagle on languet. Knuckle bow & backstrap are oak leaf decorated. Classic lion head pommel w/ red eyes. There is a sword knot attached that is green wool w/ a leather thong that may not be appropriate for this sword. Composite grip w/ wire wrap. Black painted metal scabbard. CONDITION: blade shows substantial original factory polish. Hilt generally shows light wear. Scabbard may have seen some repainting. (02-15115/BF). $600-900.
