1) SECOND MODEL. Overall length: 16 1/2". This example of a 2nd Model Luftwaffe dagger was likely assembled after the war from parts & sold to an occupying GI. Blade is unmarked. Aluminum crossguard & pommel. Wire wrapped cream colored grip w/ wooden core covered by composite material. Plated scabbard. CONDITION: blade has a light gray finish & shows evidence of cleaning. The Party symbol has been broken off the Luftwaffe eagle crossguard. The grip has several age cracks but the wire is complete. Scabbard shows moderate to heavy wear but is intact. (02-15068/BF). 2) FIRST MODEL. Overall length: 19 1/4". Blade marked, “(king)SMF SOLINGEN”. Aluminum pommel & crossguard w/ gold mobile Party symbols. Blue leather grip w/ wire wrap. Aluminum mounted blue leather covered scabbard. CONDITION: blade has a light gray finish & shows evidence of cleaning. The gold finish is worn off of the Party symbol on the pommel. Grip shows light wear. Scabbard shows light overall wear. (02-15099/BF). $700-1,000.
