BLADES. These 2 blades each measure 52" in overall length. They have a steel alloy ferrule & attachment ring that extends 10" up the base w/ a brass edge & tip on the plastic impregnated compressed hardwood blades. Each blade is marked w/ the company logo that reads, "ERCO RIVERDALE MARYLAND ENGINEERING & RESEARCH CORPORATION "COMPREG" ". Blades like this were produced for use w/ the Hamilton Standard propeller hub used in general aviation as well as military trainers & smaller transport planes. The wooden blades were developed to compensate for a shortage of aluminum during the war. The blades were carved from an impregnated & compressed laminated block of high density wood called "Compreg". CONDITION: both blades show handling wear only & appear to have never been mounted to an aircraft. (02-13500/BF). $2,200-2,800.
