CARBINES. 1) PRE WAR CARBINE. Cal. 32 WS. S# 1068993. Bbl. 20" carbine style of "Stainless Steel". Stainless Steel bbls. were offered on all Winchester models at a cost of $9 for a short time in the 1920's & are scarce collector's items today. Replacement Marbles pinned blade bead front sight w/ folding leaf carbine style rear sight. Full length mag. Action is drilled on left side for scope attachment. Longwood walnut forearm & straight grip carbine stock, LOP: 13" over an aftermarket black ventilated pad. Mfg. 1929. CONDITION: bbl. retains 70% Japan black finish. Action & mag. tube retain 70% blue showing spots of wear & flaking. Wood shows scratches & handling marks. Pad is crushed & age hardened. Bright near excellent bore. (19-5781/DS). 2) SRC. Cal. 30-30. S# 1014238. Bbl. 20" carbine style w/ Lyman ivory bead pinned blade replacement front sight w/ D.W. King full buckhorn elevator adj. replacement rear sight. Full mag. Left side of action has saddle ring & 2 open holes for scope mt. attachment. Longwood forearm & straight grip carbine stock w/ carbine buttplate. Mfg. 1927. CONDITION: bbl. retains 90% blue showing spots of fading & scattered scratches. Mag. tube & action retain 40% blue showing flaking & light scratches. Buttplate has faded blue w/ spots of corrosion. Stocks have worn finish w/ scattered scratches & handling marks. Bore is generally bright w/ strong rifling showing some darkening in grooves. (19-5783/DS). BOTH CURIO. $900-1,500.
