1) WWI MINERS SWORD. Overall length: 36 1/2". Blade length: 30 3/4". Single fullered blade etched over 1/3 of its length w/ various foliate motifs. Gilded brass hilt w/ crossed miner’s hammers on the languet. Wire wrapped sharkskin grip. There is a gold bullion sword knot attached to the hilt. Gilded brass mounted leather scabbard. CONDITION: blade shows substantial original factory polish w/ a few scattered dark spots. Etching is frosty. Traces of gilding remain on the hilt. Grip is undamaged. Sword knot shows light wear. Scabbard shows surface abrasions but no damage. (02-15000/BF). 2) WWII ARMY OFFICER'S SWORD. Overall length: 40 5/8". Blade length: 34 1/2". Plain single fullered blade. Gilded brass hilt w/ spread winged German eagle & Party symbol on the crossguard & languet. Knuckle bow & back strap are ornately embellished w/ an oak leaf motif. Black composite grip w/ silver wire wrap. Black enameled metal scabbard. CONDITION: blade shows substantial original factory polish. Hilt retains most of its original gilding. Grip has a sm. separation near the pommel. Wire is complete. Scabbard shows minor loss of finish concentrated near the drag. (02-15004/BF). $500-800.
