Bbl. marked on top over chamber w/ boxed "FAT" "(royal crown)" & "42". Cleaning rod is present. Provision for side & bottom slings. Hardwood stock set. Buttstock is marked on left side w/ faint circular Terni marking. CONDITION: stock set has large degree of original finish w/ thinning, staining & light wear. Small crack behind receiver tang. Metal has 75% original thinning blue w/ light wear & notable small area of pitting on left receiver rail. Very good shiny bore. (21-997/RW). 2) Cal. 7x57 Mauser. S# A268. Bbl. 22". Numbers match on receiver, bolt & trigger guard. Scarce early version of Spanish Model 1916 short rifle w/ "Lange Vizier" rear sight. Receiver is marked on top w/ partially obscured Fabrica De Armas Oviedo & dated 1??9. Rear sight graduated to 2000m. Inverted "V" front sight w/ protective ears. Cleaning rod & bayonet lug are present. Side swivels w/ period leather sling. Milled trigger guard w/ hinged floorplate. Nonmatching walnut stock set. CONDITION: wood & metal have high percentage of arsenal rework type finish w/ very light wear & scattered handling marks. Lower band is insecure. Fair, worn bore retains a degree of shine.
