1) TRAPDOOR SPRINGFIELD WITH RAMROD BAYONET. Cal. 45-70. S# 546309. Bbl. 36". Among the last of the trapdoor Springfield rifles, this example conforms w/ "1884" dated breech & "U.S. SPRINGFIELD" marked lock. Cartouche opposite lock has inspector's initials "SWP" (Samuel W. Porter) & "date 1892". Buffington rear sight. CONDITION: very good overall. Retains traces of finish on bbl., breech & lock. Stock is sound w/ good cartouche & rack #s stamped in stock. There is also a circle "P" cartouche on bottom of comb, complete & original. Fine mechanics w/ bright shiny bore. (01-17306/JS). 2) DANISH MODEL 1867 ROLLING BLOCK RIFLE. Cal. 11.7x51R Danish. S# 63252. Bbl. 37 1/2". "Kjobenhavns Toihuus 1882" stamped on rear tang. Standard configuration w/ front blade on pedestal front sight & adj. rear sight, iron mounted. CONDITION: very good overall. Traces of original finish on bbl., metal overall mixed smooth patinas. Mechanics are fine w/ crisp bright bore. PROVENANCE: Estate Collection of Dan Poppen. (01-17307/JS). BOTH ANTIQUE. $800-1,200.
