1984 (1984) - Press Kit from Propmaster Ken Hawryliw.
Original press kit that belonged to propmaster "Ken Hawryliw", from the Michael Radford directed dystopian film '1984' (1984), based on George Orwell's 1949 novel and follows the life of Winston Smith (Hurt), a low-ranking civil servant in a war-torn London in Oceania, a totalitarian superstate ruled by Ingsoc and its leader Big Brother.
Starring John Hurt, Richard Burton, Suzanna Hamilton and Cyril Cusack.
This lot is from the estate of propmaster Ken Hawryliw.
Ken Hawryliw was a highly influential Canadian film and television property master who shaped the visual aesthetic of modern sci-fi television from the early 1990s through the 2010s. Best known for his foundational work on The X-Files, Hawryliw spent decades fabricating custom weapons, sourcing high-detail close-up evidence, and managing expansive prop departments. He passed away on February 19, 2026.
