The name Buffalo Horse is found on this revolver. He was a member of Hollow Horn Bear's Band of Sicangu Orphan Band of the Brule Lakota Sioux. Buffalo Horse fought at Little Bighorn and then followed Sitting Bull into the Big Horn Mountains. He surrendered shortly after that because he was tired of fighting and later became an officer with the Rosebud Agency. It is believed he was issued this revolver there.
