Cal. 577. S# C853. This is a fine example of usually hard used British SRCs. Standard configuration. Bbl.19" w/ Snider patent breech, brass mounted other than steel bbl. band. CONDITION: very good overall. Bbl. retains strong traces of blued finish, overall mixed plum patina w/ staining & pitting. Breech retains strong traces of finish, as does lock w/ crisp markings including unit markings on buttplate tang. Stock is sound & well fit w/ sharp edges, minor chipping & numerous storage dings & dents. Mechanically fine w/ bright shiny rifled bore. PROVENANCE: Estate Collection of Dan Poppen. (01-17314/JS). ANTIQUE. $300-500.
