RIFLE MUSKET. Cal. 58. NSN. This is a nice example of a scarcer contract Model 1861 "U.S. / TRENTON" marked lock dated "1863" w/ "1864" bbl. date. Inspector cartouches are visible in outline only. CONDITION: very good overall. Metal is bright/gray. All matching & original w/ exception of rear sight leaf. Markings all discernible. Stock is sound & well fit w/ nice color, minor chipping in ramrod channel & buttplate tang. Mechanically excellent w/ discernable rifled bore showing pitting. PROVENANCE: From the Estate of Ronald A. Katchuk. (01-17108/JS). ANTIQUE. $1,200-1,500.
