Young Little Wolf was also known as Red Bird and was a Northern Cheyenne. He joined his uncle, Chief Little Wolf's, Bow String Soldier Band. Chief Little Wolf gave Red Bird his name in recognition of his bravery in a battle. Young Little Wolf fought in the Indian Wars alongside his father and uncle. Later in life he became a tribal chief.
