Mughals: Jahangir (1605-1627 AD), silver rupee, Ahmadabad mint, 'Kishwar' couplet, AH 1027/RY 1x, struck from special dies intended for the gold mohur, this type immediately precedes the introduction of the zodiacal coins; Zeno #139935, KM 149.3, 11.47g. Obv: Persian legend ba-haft kishwar ain zar hameeshah bad rawaan with mint name zarb ahmadabad. Rev: Persian legend za Naqsh-i-naam-i-Jahangir, Badshah-i-Jahan with AH date. The couplet reads as: “In Seven Climes, will this gold remain always current, through the design of the name of Jahangir, king of the World [Let this coin remain valid and accepted across all the seven regions of the world, for it bears the name of Jahangir, the king of the world]”.

Beautifully toned with decorative floral motifs on both sides, Without any test mark, Mint state, Very rare in this grade.
