Medieval India: Yadava feudatories in Vidarbha - 'Bhujanga' dynasty, gold punch-marked gadyana of Vesu Bhu(janga) (c.late 12th - early 13th century AD), not listed in major publications, 3.55g. Obv: five punches - stylized lion facing right in centre; Kannada letter 'Shri' x2; a dagger symbol with a small human figure with dots on the outside and Nagari letter Ba inside'; Nagari legend Shri Ve shs Bhu.

Very fine, Very rare.

The 'Bhujanga'-titled feudatories are known from their coins (hitherto unpublished) encountered in the Eastern part of Vidarbha. They are remarkably similar to the issues of another feudatory of the Yadavas, the Paramara king Jagadeva.
